The Department of Geology and Mining of Jammu and Kashmir stands established with the objective to explore the mineral wealth and groundwater resources of the state. Detailed information about the Department's functions, services, achievements, mining lease, geological exploration, major and minor minerals etc. is provided. Organized a one day symposium along with Dr. Syayb in the honor of late Prof. Dr. S. Hamidulah under the title “Kashmir earthquake Physiographic and social impact” on October 18 under the auspices of NCE in Geology, University of Peshawar.
